SSH device hosts behind any login shell

Lets a Windows machine whose SSH login shell is PowerShell serve as a device host. Device commands reach the host through standard input instead of as a quoted argument, which PowerShell rewrote until commands silently did nothing. npm runs through the selected Node because Windows cannot launch it on its own, so Test connection reports the host's platforms instead of claiming npm is missing.

npm is missing from the non-interactive SSH PATH.

Mock host: the MacBook Pro testing the Windows desktop over SSH, where the login shell is PowerShell. This fork sends the check through standard input and launches npm through Node, so the host reports Android; the original could not launch npm and called it missing. Test connection runs the check again and lands on the same outcome. Nothing connects or saves.
